When I was walking through the alley, which you see on the picture below, I only wanted to get onto the other side.
How often do we have a goal in life which we chase, withouth looking left or right. How often do we stride in a rush through the streets and don’t even notice, what's around us.
Same in this alley.
In every arch way the light shines through.
Jesus says in John 8:12:
„I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life“.
When I compare the picture with my own life, I realise how many times God had knocked on my heart.
Sadly I was so focussed on myself, that I didn’t notice it.
Or even worse, I did not care.
I only wanted to reach my targets as quickly as possible.
One day, I decided to walk to the left where the light is, just like in the picture.
Each arch way with light resembles an attempt of God, to make you notice him.
Although it is much more beautiful, warmer and fulfilling in the light, most of us prefer to remain in the darkness.
We prefer to keep walking straight.
Eventually, when we fall over, we get frightened at first.
However we also win time.
Time to bethink and ask ourselves, where we stand in life.
Maybe we orientate ourselves anew, and choose a new path.
A way of light, hope and salvation waits on every corner.
The only thing we need to do is to take a first step.
In which direction that is, is everyone’s own choice.
